INTRODUCTION OF DONKEY

Donkey is a game for children created for play with a Rook deck by George Parker.  This game can be played with a standard 52 card deck as well.

Playing a lot like Spoons, players are passing cards quickly to the left and collecting cards from the right until they have a four of a kind in their hand.

THE CARDS & THE DEAL

Donkey uses a 56 card Rook deck.  Shuffle and deal out all of the cards to each player one at a time.  Some players may have more cards than others.

THE PLAY

Players pass cards one at a time to the player on their left.  They cannot pass another card until they have picked up the card passed to them from the player on their right.

Players continue doing this until they form a four of a kind in their hand.  When a player forms a four of a kind, they quietly place their cards face down and put their hands under the table.

As other players notice this, they too should quietly put their cards down and place their hands under the table.  The very last player to notice must get up and run around the table shouting hee haw like a donkey.

WINNING

The first player to get a four of a kind is the winner.
